Matthew 14:13-33; 1 Peter 2:16-18
Introduction
Worship is what Satan desires and it is what Jesus deserves.
We see Satan’s lust for worship demonstrated in his fall in Isaiah 14:12-15 and in his temptation of Jesus Christ recorded in Matthew 4 and Luke 4.
Witnessing (Matthew 14:13-21)
Feeding the five thousand
Walking (Matthew 14:22-26)
Jesus walks on the Sea
Worshiping (Matthew 14:27-33)
“But immediately…” (Matthew 14:27)Peter walked on the Sea and after the calm the disciples worshiped Jesus.
Note they went from saying, “It is a ghost” (Matthew 14:26) to “Truly, You are the Son of God.” (Matthew 14:33).
Warning (2 Peter 1:16-18)
A warning about false teachers.
